    my question:
i think it’s different when talking with a person vs join in a group conversation.
and i think here is work for 1 vs 1, face to face. but is it also works for a group situation?

my problem is: i can share a lot and keep a good connection with a friend, but when it comes to two or more than two friends, i start to keep silent to listen. and if someone give me a question, eventhough it’s personal question or general things, i always do it in short version. and rarely express fully thoughts.
    what’s happening to me?

It seems like these were tips on how to be a good interviewer, not conversationalist. She talks about drawing details out of your listener, but not “getting into the weeds” with what you say. It’s kind of an inverse power play to assume you will be the one mining the other person for wisdom. Both parties contribute in a conversation.

It's amazing how the topic of miscommunication is still relevant up to this day. This video was released last 2016, and now in 2021, it feels like it's even more relevant. I didn't know before how big of a thing it is to listen but watching this ted talk right now, made me realize that the key to a better conversation really is all about listening and being present in the moment.

You telling people to be understanding when disagreeable people think understanding is agreeing with the other person and you're supposed to be in an argument when you're talking with someone nobody knows how to have a conversation without arguing unless they're telling someone to do something and the other person is agreeing
